Waterfall City Athletics Club (WCAC) promotes healthy lifestyle living within the community by providing organised access to the athletics club to all the residents of Waterfall and surroundings.
HOSTING EVENTS
WCAC hosts events, in particular running events within the Waterfall City and surrounding areas. Such events help drive excitement around our community and our members, leading to a healthy lifestyle.
We collaborate with other running clubs and by requesting them to participate in our events. This gives positive exposure to our brand and enhances and promotes the sport of athletics in our community.
PARTICIPATION IN RACES NATIONALLY AND INTERNATIONALLY
Our members participate in most races in the country and in some of the international races. These races include Comrades Marathon, Two Oceans Marathon, Soweto Marathon, Mandela Marathon and Cape Town Marathon.
WCAC has a Social Responsibility program which assits in developing and building our community. We also have a development program that assits in nurturing the talent of our younger althlets.

WCAC promotes a positive spirit of the club the residents of Waterfall City and surrounding areas by encouraging friendship amongst members and other athletes.

PROFESSIONALLY MANAGED ATHLETICS CLUB
The club is managed by suitably qualified professionals. This is what differentiates WCAC from other athletics clubs. This ensures that the club is managed responsibly, including keeping an updated record of the books of accounts and procuring that the books of account are reviewed annually in accordance with accepted accounting practice.
The club’s weekly training program are planned by a certified coach.

Our Story
Waterfall City Athletics club (WCAC) is a non-profit making social running club that was founded in 2018 by a group of runners that were training in the Waterfall (Midrand area). These runners had been running together for some time and later decided to form a club to cater for all runners in the area. Waterfall City Athletics Club promotes healthy living mainly in the Waterfall City and the surrounding areas.
We currently have over 200 members and most of them are professionals.
Main Objectives
• To promote a healthy lifestyle, which is inline with overall concept behind Waterfall City (A City where people can live, work and play)
• To provide access to state of the art facilities within the Waterfall City e.g. Waterfall Park for track and time trials
• To provide organised access to athletics, inclusive of registration and participation
• Coaching and mentoring through access to our reputable coaching team
• Development of up and coming athletes through development programmes for aspiring athletes
• Promote comradery amongst a community of athletes; and
• To provide a recreational and social networking platform

Registration and General Info.
How do I register?
There is a ‘Join Now’ tab on the menu, select a membership level and complete the form.
Once, completed, click on the submit button. Remember, you will have to pay the membership level amount before your for account to become active.
Are beginners welcome at the club?
We welcome all runners of all abilities and have had many beginning runners over the years. You will definitely find someone to run with at your pace.
What is a family membership?
A family membership consists of 2 x adult running licences and full membership and it also caters for 2 x children to be members of the club at a family package cost.
Where do people get membership forms?
Our membership is automated please click on the link to join.
Health & Training
Does the WCAC offer formal coaching or training programs?
WCAC has a certified coach and there is a wealth of knowledge among the active members in the club about training. Many members have run multiple marathons and freely share information on their training. Members exchange ideas while running, on WhatsApp and also through the club’s social media platforms.
How many times a week does the club have training?
The club has a daily training program that is available for all to view on the website.
What time does the club training start?
Training starts at 5 am in the morning and at 5:30 pm in the evening on weekdays and the meeting point is Virgin Active Waterfall. On weekends training starts at 5 am at Waterfall Corner Shopping Centre.
General Race Info.
Why do we need a running licence?
Races that are ran under the rules and regulations of the ASA (10km+) requires you to have a running license. You can either buy a temporary license for the particular race or you can join a running club and purchase a permanent license number for the year.
Do I have to become a member before I can come run with the club?
Not at all, you are entirely welcome to check us out first to see if we are a good fit for you. And you can make a decision if you want to join or not.
